If you don’t prepare and handle things properly, it could lead to dangerous outcomes. Indigo Hospital is responsible for ensuring that your surgical experience will be safe.
Safety has three phases.
Preparing For Surgery
Rest well and follow the instructions of your doctor/surgeon.
We will do everything we can to ensure that you are comfortable, safe, and free of complications during your hospital stay.
Please read the following guidelines to help you prepare for surgery.
Pre – operation Phase
- Get all your doubts clarified about the procedure from your medical team.
- For a day surgery – Make sure you have adult supervision to accompany you and drive you home post-surgery. In case, you do not have anybody to accompany you, we would be more than willing to reschedule your procedure to fit your need.
- If you fall ill one day prior to the surgery, call your doctor immediately.
- Ensure maximum hygiene before you get admitted to minimize the possibility of infections.
- If you discover that you may be pregnant post-diagnosis of your surgery inform the surgeon immediately.
On Surgery Day
- Follow all instructions given by the surgery, such as the consumption of food or water prior to your surgery.
- Ensure you take the medications prescribed by your doctor.
- Flat footwear and loose clothing are a must.
- Leave jewelry and valuables at home.
What you can carry?
- Medications you take every day, along with dosage and frequency
- Asthma inhaler in case you need to use one.
- Reading glasses, hearing aid, and dentures in case you need to use any of these.
